Sillimanite is a mineral within the kyanite group, typically characterized by its flat columnar crystals and chain-like structures. It can be found in various colors such as grey, white, brown, or light blue, with a glassy luster. Sillimanite has a relative hardness ranging from 6 to 7.5 and a volumetric density of 3.23-3.27g/cm3.
