Andalusite is a mineral within the kyanite family, typically characterized by its columnar crystals and island-like structures, often exhibiting a cross-section close to a square shape. It can be found in various colors such as pink, reddish-brown, or gray-white, with a glassy luster. Andalusite has a relative hardness ranging from 6 to 7.5 and a volumetric density of 3.1-3.2g/cm3.
